It is about 2 kilometres on foot from Lübeck’s main railway station to the European Hansemuseum.
The museum building was rebuilt in 2015 and attached to the historic castle monastery grounds. The guidelines for accessibility applicable at the time were particularly taken into account for the new building.
In 2018, the museum will meet the test criteria of the ‘Travel for All’ labelling system. The project in the sense of ‘Tourism for All in Germany’ is a cooperation project of the German Seminar for Tourism (DSFT) Berlin e.V. and the Association Tourism for All Germany e.V. – NatKo, supported by the German Ministry of Economics and Energy.

Our shop in the entrance hall offers all kinds of things for the perfect souvenir or beautiful gift ideas for your loved ones! From a large selection of books on the Hanse to children’s toys and stylish decorative items – the museum shop invites you to browse!
There are many products to discover around the Hanse! Seven days a week you can also purchase our popular annual tickets and vouchers here – for a visit to the museum or for the shop itself.
Need a snack before or after your visit to the exhibition? In the museum shop you will find a small selection of snacks and drinks to enjoy with a view of Lübeck harbour. You are also welcome to bring your own food.
