European Hansemuseum nominated for the EMYA 2017

The European Museum of the Year Award, EMYA for short, is the most important European prize for museums. In 2017, it will be awarded for the 40th time – and the European Hansemuseum is one of the nominees! The decision of the jury of the European Museum Forum was made during the last weeks in Frankfurt. A few of the decisive factors were the overall concept of the museum with its exquisit public quality, the diverse event program and the educational work.

At the beginning of May, the European Museum Forum will decide on its annual convention, which will take place in Zagreb this time, who will be the award winner 2017. By a public interview and a poster session, the European Hansemuseum can present itself right on-site and convince the expert committee of its qualities. The celebratory awards ceremony will take place on May 6, 2017, featuring a challenge cup designed by the famous sculptor Henry Moore. We are very happy about the nomination and hope that the challenge cup will find a place in our foyer next year!
